A Living Gift in Trust (Charitable Remainder Trust)
You can make a substantial gift to Centers for the Handicapped Foundation and at the same time receive steady income payments to you (with tax breaks at the same time), and to your spouse if you like, for as long as you both live, with the principal of the trust coming later to Centers for the Handicapped Foundation. At the same time the financial security of your family is protected.

Your tax advisor (or, if you like, ours) can tailor a living gift in trust that is adaptable to your particular situation and include tax advantages as well: lower estate taxes, and lower income tax.
In establishing a trust, should you desire to retain your claim to the money or property used to make that trust, you can do so in these two general ways:

Revocable Living Trust
A Revocable Trust allows the life income to go to a beneficiary named by you, and Centers for the Handicapped Foundation would receive the principal when the beneficiary dies. But, you retain the right to revoke the trust completely at any time and take back the principal. (Some tax benefits are given up, of course.)

Revocable Living Trust
With a Charitable Lead Trust it is specified that you (or your family) will get the principal back. It's just that the money or property stays in the trust for a number of years specified by you, and Centers for the Handicapped Foundation receives the income. When the specified time runs out, the trust is closed out and you (or your family) get back the principal.
